The Wanderer

Last week was Halloween and me and my friends were eating our trick or treat candies, telling ghost stories. Oh, and by the way, I am Hailey Jones. Back to the story, James Clarke, was telling us this true story about a soul that wandered up on earth “And if you see the wanderer you do not know when bad luck might find you”. My other friend Arielle Banks just laughed and James said “You do not know when you’ll see the wanderer” The same night, I couldn’t sleep. I kept thinking about James’ story. It sounded so real… Then I heard a scraping noise on the window. I was so spooked!! I tried waking Arielle up but she did not wake up. So I went to check what was outside “Hailey, it’s alright, keep calm”. Then I opened the window and saw a person in a black robe, but get this, he was floating!!!!! Then it looked at me, I could see it’s face clearly!! It was a girl, with a creepy face.

A I shut the window and ran to my bed and I pulled the blanket all the way up. Then I thought of James’ story…Was it? Could it? I freaked out at that thought!! What if that girl was the wanderer?!!!?? I couldn’t sleep for the rest of the night and the next day I told James what I saw. James believed me. He told me that once his grandmother, when she was a little girl, she saw the wanderer and the day after she went missing. Then in class, our word of the day was WANDERER. It was all so weird. And then I looked out of the window, I saw the girl again… At recess, I told them what happened, and Arielle, started believing me. James said “The wanderer, at night stays in a cemetery. And the only cemetery in town, is the Saint Angel’s cemetery” I told them to meet me there at 10:00 pm.  That night, I was the first one to arrive, then Arielle and James came. As we started walking through the cemetery, we heard an eerie noise. Then we heard a scream that belonged to Arielle. We turned back to check on her, but she was there all in one shape. I asked her what happened, she said she trapped the wanderer in a bottle filled with water. I asked her how she did it, but she didn’t reply, instead she wrote in the sand- This is my curse, now I will never ever be able to speak. I caught her and no medicine in the world can help me. I could only say a few more words, and that’s done. Goodbye world, goodbye sun and the moon and you. You were my best friends and I will always love you no matter what, remember me. She shed one last tear, and her soul reached heaven… Both of us cried while we were burying her body. We took the bottle and buried it deep underground, and we had to explain a lot when we reached home, and if Arielle was here, I would say- I love you…
